Offshore Clamp Design

Coming soon

The Offshore Steel Clamp Designer is a browser-based tool for designing bolted friction-grip clamps on tubular members of fixed offshore structures, to ISO 19902:2020. It handles neoprene-lined and steel-to-steel clamps, for adding a member or repairing an end-to-end connection. It covers the full design: studbolt preload with calculated preload losses, slip and lift-off, the liner to HSE RR031, shell, plates, stiffeners and welds, crushing and crimping of the existing member, and bolt fatigue. It also selects a hydraulic tensioner for subsea or topside use. Every check is set out clause by clause, with the same clamp also checked to traditional JIRRP working stress for comparison. A scale 3D model, built from your inputs, lets you rotate, cut through and inspect every part of the clamp. The tool then produces a fully referenced calculation report ready for checking and approval, and a companion Excel workbook gives the same results cell by cell for independent verification.
